A new year full of new beginnings...

This is Nala. The newest member of my family. Otherwise fondly called Baby Nala,  Baby, Or Little Fluff. ( She has a magnificent tail ;) )

In September of last year, my beloved Smokey did not come home. I am not quite sure what happened to him. I put up posters and went around door to door asking neighbors if they had seen him.

I went to the pound, placed a lost cat notification on the web, and went down to the humane society every few days ( which is 1/2 an hour and on the other side of the city from me) in search for my friend of over ten years with no avail.

Finally I realized that he was not ever going to be found. One day while being particularly depressed from the lack of luck in finding my black and white pal-  at the humane society, I ventured into the adoption area.  This is where I spied my new little friend who has a purr like a motor and is so friendly and playful, she lifts my spirits on any bad day.

Our home backs onto an Natural Park there are coyotes share the park with us, who we have seen them about at odd times. I figure my poor little fuzzy one was taken by them as a snack. :(
I have Nala who is wonderful but I will never forget my dear Smokey Munchkin- the first pet of my own I had, who has been through marriage and divorce with me and living on my own. I will always remember him, and wish to have nice memories although thinking of him does still make me sad, as I really do wish he was still with me.
Sorry this isn't the most sparkly of entries but sometimes remembering someone special even your pets puts a smile to your face when you're having a bad day.
